I agree with Bigfoot - saw it last night. Different feel to the first one. Less violence, more acting. David Carradine kicks arse. I'll never look at Darryl Hannah the same way again.

The first one was a revenge movie - this one is a love loss revenge redemption movie.

dazz, did you find the end was semi anti-climactic? I thought it would have been abit more grand-scale.

How would you top the wall to wall sword violence in part 1, with a mere one on one sword fight to finish the movie?
The end plays as a redemption/end of romance.
Part 1 was: WHY the bride wants bloody revenge, and HOW she gets it.
Part 2 is: WHAT is the relationship between the Bride and Bill, WHY Bill did what he did WHERE and WHEN the Bride became the killing machine she is and HOW the Bride and Bill resolve their relationship.
In essence - part 1 feels like a complete revenge movie. The victim is degraded and oppressed, who then becomes the avenger taking bloody revenger out of all proportion to what she suffered. (She loses 4 years and a lot of dignity, and in return 50 (?) + are sliced diced and violently killed). All you need to know is she is a killing machine, and has reason to take down her former comrades.
Part 2 is all the backstory, character motivation and reasoning. Budd, Elle and Bill are fleshed out extensively, and the Bride actualy becomes a person and not an avenging force.
Infact, in part 2, the bride only kills once. The cat fight until the conclusion was pretty much a draw. With the one kill it is a symbolic 'student has become the master' growth of character moment.

blah blah blah etc. :satan:

see volume 1 - seriously, it was brilliant. Its a very different movie to volume 2. Many people I know liked 1 better than 2
