Hand Cycling

Postby jlg on Wed 18/Jun/14 6:27pm

Hi all,
I broke my neck mountain biking four years ago, I'm considering moving near Rotorua and getting a three wheeled full suspension hand cycle.
If so are there many trials open to me or are they mostly single trek, blocked by gates, etc.. I think the front end is about 90cm wide but I could be wrong.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

John

It will partly depend on your turning radius - many people ride there with ~800mm handlebars, but often need to turn quickly to avoid the next tree.

Good luck!

Once you get into the forest there aren't any real gates or obstacles blocking the trail entrys, the hardest part might well be getting into the riding area itself.

But then if you talk with the MTB club and the land owners you may well be able to get a gate key to help you with access

Thanks for your replies,
I've been trying to find out what the turning cycle is like but to no avail.

Still, a whim and a prayer at this stage but if it all works out I'll get in touch with the MTB club for sure..

Cheers,
J
