The Shining is a classic. Hallways of blood, scary dead twins, croaky demon voiced little boys and Jack at his deranged creepy best.

I'm not really into slasher flicks but I do enjoy movies like The Shining.

I've read that Horror movies are great money spinners for the makers;
teenage boys want to go with them, they take their girlfriends who don't want to see them but want the date + they are always R16 or R18 so adult price admissions.

Brain Dead is one of my favourites, although i suspect that may fall into the splatter rather than horror category, so probably have to go with Dawn of the Dead.

Dawn of the Dead is one of my favourite films ever. Day of the Dead is very good also.

Poltergeist. saw it in 1983, I was not yet 13 and it made me scared of trees, wardrobes, clown toys, static on telly, steaks on benches and short fat ladies. On re-watching a number of years ago, it was quite tame. Sequals were the shittest kind of crap in existance.
