Yep - almost all the original crew doing the voices, many of the top sci fi authors from the original series writing, and a chance to do some wacky aliens cos they didn't have to glue some Hollywood gumby into a latex monster suit.

It comes from that weird decade long period where the entire cast were being paid on pay or play deals while they tried to get the show back on TV or onto the big screen, cos the original show was a monster hit in syndication.

And the James Bond fans need to have a read of this:

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ ... 099637.ece

I knew there was something fishy in the goings on with Thunderball and Never Say Never Again, which led to Sony going head to head with MGM in court in recent years claiming they had the right to their own Bond franchise......

Of course that was all solved with Sony ended up owning MGM.

Firefly rocks! i saw about 12 eps while in the UK, id say 10 of them were awesome and 2 of them were not so good. I love the 'universe' they are in - and the characters they created, shame it didnt take off !!!

Have seen the new series of star trek, correction - the old series redone with new effects and CGI

it looks pretty cool - and doesnt detract to much from that 70's feel. rocks still move when bumped into them :-)

things i saw on the plane :
3.10 to YUMA was pretty good, if not a little predictable,
RUSH HOUR 3 is awful!
STARDUST - pretty good
DIE HARD 4.0 - started well, then went totally ridiculous.

28 WEEKS LATER on DVD - totally let down by this movie, stupid plot holes and weak characters

Casino Royal on BLU-RAY is dam dam dam fine!!!!

You can blame Speilberg and Lucas and that crowd. Serenity (the movie based around the Firefly series... get the 2 disc special edition) came out just before or just after that lame-o POS known as Star Wars part 3, and the punters went to see that, instead of a really good science fiction movie. Stupid Americans.

Its the only movie in living memory I have lined up and paid money to see on the big screen twice within its theatrical release.....

Second Cloverfiled trailer on YouPooze.

They played a Cloverfield trailer last night when I went to see I Am Legend - which incidentally I found pretty good (not having read the novel so with no expectations other than the completely excessive TV and bus advertising). Apart from the Blair Witch style talk into your own shaky camera shit, it "looks" pretty good.

My most anticipated movie release of 08 has to be Kung Fu Panda though... yes I am prepared for awesomeness. If it's stink I'm going to be psychologically killed.

Just watched it, no Cloverfield trailer for me though...went from liking it to being annoyed to ready to demand my money back*. Hoped for so much more I guess...should have learned my lesson after Transformers. :(

*apparently I can't do that because I didn't pay.**
**Nor can I charge them for the time I sat there.

The creator/show runner for Firefly also created some lesser TV series as well. For them and for Firefly he is continuing the stories in comic book form, with himself and original tv series writers contributing stories and actor likenesses in use. So yeah, it is all canon, and it is generally all good.

Funnily enough, was just watching a 50's movie about hunting for the Yeti, and this turned up online.......

http://www.archives.gov/historical-docs ... -date=1210

hurray for freedom of information, a real advisory from the US state department about the regulations for Yeti hunting in Nepal. :)

So, how exactly do you claim a self defence shooting of a Yeti? Go NYC styles, full him full of lead and plant a gun after the fact?
