Okay, if I were to change my bars to something like the Salsa Moto Pro with 11 degree sweep (or maybe 17... not sure), would I want/need a longer stem? If so, how much longer, 10mm? :eh: I'm just wondering how to get the same relative position.

Also, what options are there in big sweep bars?

Fanks. :)

I'm assuming in relative to its current position.

I have a 11deg salsa and don't think the stem would need to be more than 10mm to achieve the same reach. The 11degs not that much diff to alot of risers.

The current position of WHAT though?

580mm 5 degree flat bar? 777mm 10 degree? On-one Mary?

Existing bars are On One Mary bars with uber sweep. Hand position is roughly inline with the centre of the bar, like a straight-ish bar (depending on hand position!).

Current stem is possibly too long, so the Salsa bar (or similar) could help that too.

Thanks Nick. I was hoping a 10mm change would be about right.

Ive taken some photos so you can decide for yourself.

I said 10mm as I was comparing it against a set of normal risers and taking into account I roll my bars forward so it will be more like a 7deg rear sweep with some up sweep. Depending how you will run your bars the answer will be different.

For this photo I have the tapes running from the centres of the bars.

I hope this helps.

That tape looks expertly coiled. I reckon it must've taken you a long time to get it to sit just so.

I'm just jealous, on my retail wage I can only afford a single tape, and here you are flaunting your pair. :(
