Your Support Is Needed For A Nz Cycling Tv Show

Cunning plans have been going on behind the scenes for producing a New Zealand cycling TV show. The show will be fronted by Jon Bridges and would be magazine style covering all forms of cycling with a healthy dose of humour and irreverence.

Those of you familiar with Jon’s work and passion for cycling will know how wicky-cool this has the potential to be.

However we need to get the support of NZ On Air to help make this happen. So the plan is to get as much online support as possible through sites like Vorb and Ridestrong.

So... please add your vote to the poll and if you have any suggestions/ messages of support Jon and the team would love to hear them.

Seriously though - this is a great idea. I mean lets face it, if boy racers can get their own show then there is no reason why cyclists couldn't/shouldn't have our own. My only input would be to mix up the content as much as possible to keep the viewer-ship (is that even a word?) as wide as possible. Vorb TV proved that we can have DH, XC, DJs, Road, Tama's commuter beastie, product reviews and even chicks nights at bike shops all happily co-existing in the same timeslot. Not everyone will be interested in everything, but if you include enough of a sniff of what people are interested in, then people will keep coming back for more.

But you guys know that already

I'd watch it, and recomend it, if it had production values along the lines of 'back of the y'

1 observation - which I'm sure you're already aware of - highlighting the kick ass NZ riders competing on the international stage (rather than just local footage) will help raise awareness of how good NZ cycling has become (especially the disciplines that get no Olympic-relates coverage).
