Wtp Towai Traverse Working Bee

Postby hickie on Sun 6th Jun 10:16am

Towai Traverse is a new track going from the top of the Spoonhill track (just opposite the end of Labyrinth) to the ECNZ 4wd track just south of the northern most peak of Towai. It will create just under 2km on new single track through some stunning regenerating bush.

Working bees will run every second Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Tools and a light lunch will be provided. We recommend you bring some gloves, warm clothing and a drink.

We will be starting from the Spoonhill end working north (see attached map). If driving to the park the closet parking is at the top of the Wainuiomata hill road. You then need to walk/ride up either the ECNZ 4wd road or Labyrinth and then down Spoonhill to find the entrance to the new track which will be marked with a sign.

Riding of the track is encouraged but bear in mind that you will need to ride out the same way you came in and that parts of the track may be left in a partially finished state so please take care.

Cancellations due to weather will be posted here on the morning or you can contact Neil on (021) 996-345 if you are unsure.

We hope to see you at a dig.

It's not looking too hot out there, however I will still be heading up there to get a few things done, so you are welcome to join me if you are still keen...

I will be at the gate at 10am, hopefully it will clear sooner rather than later.

Why not plan a ride in the park and stop by for a while to give us a hand before heading down Spoonhill/491. We'd love to see you.

We'll be starting a 10am as usual, going until about 2pm. A light lunch will be provided. We also recommend you bring a drink, some gloves and some warm clothing in case it gets cold.

Cancellations will be posted here or you can contact me on (021) 996-345

cheers

Come along a lend a hand.

Tools and a light lunch are provided. Bring a drink, some gloves and warm clothing in case it turns cold. It takes about 15 minutes to walk up from the car park at the top of the hill or 20-30 minutes to ride from the car park at the bottom of Waiu St.

Cancellations will be posted on here or you can contact me on (021) 996-345

Well me may just get away with it, then again we could end up getting soaked... At least we'll be on the sheltered side of the hill :)

Nice crisp southerly out there and a bit of low cloud hanging around the hill so bring some warm clothes if you're planning on coming along. See you there.
