There won't be any dig on TT this coming Sunday due to my absence and a number of other things happening as well. I understand plans are under way for something to happen down near the Waiu car park on Saturday instead.

Remember there isn't a dig tomorrow (29th Aug) but Tryfan will be beavering away today on the lower tracks (beeline/westside) somewhere if you'd like to give him a hand.

26th Sept 2010

This will be the last in the Winter series of working bees on this track. We will start at 10:00am and go through to 2:00pm as we have been all winter. We'd love to see you along, even if you just stop by during a ride. Tools and a light lunch will be provided. check back here for cancellations.

I'd also like to encourage those riding Spoonhill to pop down the new track to help wear it in. Feedback would be much appreciated as it is currently in a roughcut form awaiting tweaking and the tweaks will be that much better if we have an idea of what people like and dislike about it. There is Plenty of time however as we will probably start the tweaking process towards the end of Summer.

On the 10th October we will start our Summer series, look out for an updated timetable out soon. These will start at 9:00am rather than 10:00am. We won't be doing any evening digs on this track this Summer, they will be saved for other special projects :)

cheers

Neil

OK, so the weather is only a little dodgy and meant to get better so the sausage rolls are in the oven...

See you there (hopefully)

It can now be revealed that over the summer working parties we have 2 $250 gift vouchers courtesy bicycle.co.nz to give away for people who turn up to the working bees. The first will be drawn on Monday 20th December 2010 just in time for Christmas. You will earn one entry for each working party you attend up to and including the 19th December with a bonus entry if you attend 3 or more working parties for the draw. WTP committee members or staff of bicycle.co.nz aren't eligible to enter so your chances are good! Even attending part of a working be counts, so bring a bike, go a ride and stop by to help for a while.

On the last dig we got past one of my milestones, the slip. The next one will be the base of the 4th pylon, which is a long way away, so we can do with as much helpers as possible to make good progress.

Call me crazy but I'll still be heading up the hill :o

However I don't expect anyone that possesses that quality called common sense to show up, at least not until later in the morning or even lunch time.

Congratulations To Craig Hansen who was the winner of the first of our $250 vouchers from bicycle.co.nz. Also I would like to thank Cam and the lads from bicycle.co.nz for the support they have offered and also all those people that turned to a working party this summer. I hope to see you all back in the new year.
