I have just been chatting with Jim and confirm that this Sunday will be his last Sunday working on the trail, so it would be great to get a large group out to make a significant chunk in the last remaining section. (Sorry, I doubt will finish it this weekend, but before Christmas is looking very likely :))

Both Jim and I should be there early so those of you chomping at the bit can turn up at 9:00am :)

cheers

Weather is looking nice out this way this morning, rain has departed leaving the ground nice and soft for the mattocks :)

Hope to see you up the hill...

A big thank you to all those that turned up, I believe there was 15 of us in all. A great send off for Jim's last Sunday dig. Got to say the chocolate cake was, well, icing of the cake

I've got to give you all an apology for failing to mention the heavy benching required today, it must have completely slipped my mind beforehand :D On a positive note we have now cleared through to the last gully so we would have a total of about 100m left to go give or take...

Hope to see you all in 2 weeks :)

You might get to see a few pictures posted from others later on.

cheers

Snail Trail dig this week.

Sunday the 6th of December, starting from 9:00am.

Meet at the trail end, wander up Labyrinth until you see the turn off just before the first section of wooden retaining. Digging is happening about 600m down the track.

We'll, a bigger turnout than I was expecting and some great progress thanks to all those that turned up. You well and truly earned you hard man or woman badge today :-)

When I left at 1pm Shane and Jude were determined to get the last few meters of benching done so I left them with a couple of mattocks although they looked as buggered as I felt :o

We'll probably have one last working bee for the year on the 20th and I expect we'll complete a ridable exit, which will leave some tweaking to be done next year.

Snail Trail dig this week.

Join us for this years final dig.

Sunday the 20th of December, starting from 9:00am.

Meet at the trail end, wander up Labyrinth until you see the turn off just before the first section of wooden retaining. Digging is happening about 700m down the track.

We'll be working on getting a rideable exit for Snails so we can get some quaity time bedding it in over the break.

Food and tools and provided.

We have broken through, but be warned that it's a bit rough in places and needs a bit of work to get it up to standard. So go ride it and help estabish a line for us to work too :-)
