As for the warm sausage rolls and little pies, that has lifted the morning tea bar so high none of us GUYS are ever going to be able to reach so the tea lady better not even contemplate applying fo maternity leave :p

Thanks to all the showed up, Some top quality track was built :D

 Just found this!! Not quite ready for ML just yet thank you!!

Yesterday was spent DIYing about the house - bought LOTS of wood for our soon to be bike shed :D So I hope morning tea was ok since I wasn't able to be there to keep up standards... ;)

Snail Trail dig this week.

Sunday the 2nd August, starting from 10:00am

Meet at the trail end, wander up Labyrinth until you see the turn off just before the first section of wooden retaining. Digging is happening about 500m down the track.

We will be digging beyond the stand of Beech trees we got to last dig.

Food and tools and provided.

Also, be aware that Transpower are currently doing maintenance on their pylon access tracks. This means increases vehicle activity around the firebreaks and will specifically impact the pylon tracks that intersect Labyrinyth and the entrance to 491/Spoon Hill.

if you're going to be late anyway
maybe bring official [tah dah] :music: halfway celebration cake

stats so far:
120m of re-benching
140m of rock breaking & rock trail construction
crossing engineered
plus 210m of benching & Tryfan-style rollers

Lots of compliments from trail godfather (Paul O)
second half should be easier...

We also managed to build the first of 2 planned switchbacks for this track taking us back in the to section of beach forest.

Many thanks to all those that show up today, hope to see you again in 2 weeks.

Rain didn't amount to anything today so I reckon it's going to mostly blow over... what a great day it was to be in Wainui  ... pretty impressed with the wee lad who followed his dad down Spoonhill this afternoon - they are both VERY interested in this easier way down getting finished in time for summer!

Today we tweaked the section from the rock garden through to the beach trees. Although there are a couple of things left to do it rides very nicely now so give it a go, just don't forget you've got to ride back up...

Also very nice to meet Mr Bob in person for the first time, hope you enjoyed the trails :)
