Wtp: Restoration Of A Wetland

Postby hickie on Tue 7/Sep/10 6:18pm

Come and help start the restoration of a valuable ecological wetland in our reserve. In association with Forest & Bird and Hutt City Council. As well as plant native trees and shrubs you can lean about what native bush is already there and why it is important to have the right plants in the right place. There will also be people who there who can advise you on native plants for your house and garden.

This will run instead of Sundays Towai Traverse working bee.

Runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the end of Waui St, Wainuiomata.

cheers

Cool! That wetland has some real potential. Helping plant the area will show that MTBers love the forest, as well as the tracks.

Yep, well done guys. I can't help out but this is another example of how cutting new single track provides access for planting and weed control. I've got a whole pile of natives to plant over the next month
