Almost record numbers of Kiwi riders will race on sundays 2nd round of the Nissan UCI Mountainbike World Cup in Champery Switzerland.
Track walking day today and the the DH course is looking super steep and technical. It's pretty much all in the trees with a few rocky sections out in the open. Hopefully the rain will stay away. There are lots of off camber tree root sections and steep chutes so riding them in the wet will be interesting. I think there will be more than a few sets of boiled brakes.
Nathan Rankin (FOES) said " I'm really happy with the track and it suits my style, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's practice."
Glenn Haden (2STAGE) said " The track will be a real challenge for everyone."
Generally everyone seems pretty stoked with the track . It's 100 percent technical so will suit the riders with the best bike handling skills rather than the ability to pedal faster than anyone else.
All I'm going to say is I'm glad I don't have to race it!!
