I'm keen to help make some signs/arrows, if it means people aren't going to be wondering where the course is every night.

Pffttt - One race I taped the entire 'park' section from the sand chute to the entry back into the sandpit and the bloody wind took it all down while I was having dinner :paranoid:

Another race everyone ignored the arrows that were there and headed out after some guy that was cutting through the park on the way home from work thinking he was the leader :D

However, I am thinking of a cunning plan ;)

Recovered well enough to hammer the track on the wednesday night. Help from Cookie and will use his magic at the moonride solo 6hr. The last time I got on here the whole world spoke out so I better be careful. Race series , great to race and enjoyable to have so many riders out there on the track, not only to pass but to learn how to race with. That track is a perfect school to learn how to race, corner, pass and have fun on. If you were one who didn't have fun and some stories to tell well, sorry but on the bigger tracks you may not see another rider until the end of the race. Now last year the interclub race-ride thing tried to happen but just got washed out, weather wise. Question? Maybe the club could try and do the series again. March the 19th is the TeAroha Goat challenge 3hr event and is on my home track. See a bit of my training ground, 5.2km loops on the lower slopes on the mountain. Nothing serious at all and can even be ridden by BMX bikes. Start and finish loops at the domain on tracks that have been groomed smooth so all riders can enjoy. Cheep to enter and the whole family can come and enjoy the day. James, I will see you at the prize giving, well done Russell, well done everyone who turned up and rode for six hours.

Yes and I think 6 hours is the limit for me none of this crazy 12 and 24h stuff (and yes Russ the latter was aimed at you :D )

There is talk of a winter series again. Will know more Wednesday I'm hoping and I'm keen to include a CX class :paranoid:

Russ we could alternate between the day (sunday) rides and the night (wednesday) rides having a ride every two weeks. Just a thought.

Discussed with a couple committee members while at the track the other day. Completely different crowd for the night races and the winter series. The night stuff is the serious people and the winter series is just a fun skid around in the wet for the kiddies - usually no timing done, but just finishing order.

Serious
You should know better then that by now.

You do only get points based on position not time so that wouldn't matter. Though having a bunch of us idiots skidding about a wet track might put off some kiddies.

I loved the winter series run on a weekend afternoon, as I could actually make it down then! Night races are a bit too hard to get to in the evenings for me (at the moment anyway, things will change over time). Although, we are getting very close to the stage where I will have to escort Oli around the track as he learns to mountain bike - so I won't get to "race" anyway (should get just as fit from running along behind Oli though!). :D
