I am surprised that you were walking down Ponsonby Rd...surely that is considered passé.

Segways and YikeBikes are the way of travel upon the glitter strip.

sounds like my day out, a planned 120km on a breakfast of coffee was never going to work, so at the 70k mark I pulled into maccas huntly for one of those new beef burgers.

the looks of confusion from the typical [fat] maccas patron was rather amusing :D

Good point. Everyone should pretty much get a free pass to do whatever they feel like, without fear of hassles, on Sunday mornings. That's the way God intended it to be.

Back in the day, a couple of my teachers at high school (one an ultra long distance cyclist, the other an ironman) used to ride Hamilton-Rotorua-Taupo-Hamilton and tuck into the Macca's along the way :D

They could well have done 100km in the several hours they'd been riding before breakfast... I rode 86km today and my HR monitor said I'd burnt 1300 calories which is more than half my base daily intake allowance. If I ate 2 big breakfasts I'd still be well within my limits and able to continue to lose weight.

In fact, I often have pancakes or something similar after a big ride and I'm currently losing weight.

And as others have said, who are you to judge?
