Is it argument? Or is it in reality that the method of discussion that the interwebby forces as often the time lapse/delay means counter points are posed in manner which you may think as argumentative......

I've noticed in talking to people (esp younger) that modern communications forms such as message boards/ texting etc have led to to 'less is more' and that someone like my self for example who have spent years being a real life host find less is not more and that nothing can replace and actual face to face conversation over a cuppa or two....

Or is that Im just an old fart and its really all the fault of a kitten???

I think EDC has identified a major part of the problem - what is light-hearted banter to one person is vitriolic character assassination to another. I'm hardly ever confused about pragmatic intentions on the internet, but I think that you are right that there are lots of people out there who are incapable of either judging or effectively conveying the context of posts. A lot of it has to do with how familiar you are with a particular poster or site too.

The internet is a mirror for real life - somebody or other once described it as a big copying machine. And real life involves hate, amongst many other things. The thing is on the internet you find what you look for.

The word should reflect the importance of the shower in providing your revelation. The French word for shower is douche ... how about we call this sentiment "douchebag-ism"? :paranoid:

It's not only on teh internet, I for one hate people that can't spell and say dumb things in real life and persecute them mercilessly until they start to cry or shuffle off to find phsyciatric help to rebuild their shattered psyche. It's fun.
