I see on Google Earth that Whitford forest links to Maraetai. Wouldn't it be cool to have a trail that went all the way :hmmm:

Hi
I would like to contact some of the guys who have built/maintain the tracks at Whitford. We (me and a few mates) have built a series of tracks in the forest above Maraetai and are in the process of forming a club (had the first AGM a few weeks ago) and obtaining formal permission to ride there (with vehicle access for club 'downhill' days and further track building) from forest management. This is all being done through the Te Puru sports complex at Beachands/Maraetai and we will obtain national affiliation/insurance etc etc. We would be keen to include the Whitford tracks but would like the guys who built those tracks to be be the main movers and shakers in the development of those forest blocks (while we concentrate on the Maraetai area).
You can contact me at callumw@adhb.govt.nz
Cheers

Yo, pretty sure AKDH is the main DH guys for the maraetai area, with them building there and such. Witford however I don't think they use.

If u want builder I'm keen as a bean to help with making a nice and flowy freeride track and a nice DJ run (3 or 4 jumps).

Get A Perm! What a great trail.
Kudos to whoever built that. Is this the best advanced trail in Auckland...?

Met a couple of guys on Turners on Sunday. They showed me the Charging Pig I think. Best trail in the forest. Thanks guys. Now where can I get an updated map to show my mates? Cheers

Get a perm is way longer than on the map just so you know, :) such a epic track, full kudos to the builders for sure! Anybody ridden it without putting a foot down/crashing?
