well dont have the offical results but marcus roy took out the race with the time of 50min something seconds :) tony hoog(spelling) 2nd, jon and mike got 3rd n 4th (they said that jon got third but I'm pretty sure mike anderson did, cos jon was only 40m infront of me at the end of the last lap)

Anja McDonald took out the expert women and she wasnt far behing the men. dam she was fast!!! I was worried on the 1st lap that she would bet me.

Well, there was no Nats XC race this weekend, so unless they were going up to do Karapoti, what else were they gonna do to get their racing fix? :p

We were planning on going up, but after all that firewood chopping and delivering we were absolutely knackered.. :paranoid:

I have heard that the track was pretty awesome. Good to see a few of the elite guys (edit: and girl) up there getting involved in the local races.

Last word:

"Hi Guys,

Due to a busy calendar in both January and February, we are looking at holding the Oamaru ‘Wanbrow Wobbly Wheels’ on the 18 March.

Mark it in your calendars.

Part of the day will be a bike check and mini MTB course for the kids. This part will be run by Alison Banks, our Community Safety Coordinator.

I will be running the main MTB event basically exactly as we did last year except we will have registration and prize giving at the Cricket Pavilion at the start of the street.

We have added approx 700m of track to the main loop which is fairly soft but easy riding.

I will do up a PDF to put on the MBO website

Additional, we are looking at running a fun/novice corporate team class for the novice course. It will be run at the same time as the novice race.
4 person team (at least one female) and will be aimed at Oamaru businesses – proceeds to go to Lions Club (who will be helping on the day).

More info to come when I get organized.

Have a good day
Mike Goldingham"
