On Saturday August 12th The Whirinaki Mountain Bike Track will officially be opened.
You are invited to ride it after 1.30pm. BYO bike and helmet.
Ride Whirinaki
The Whirinaki Forest Park Mountain Bike Track has been purpose built and weaves through one of the most spectacular and interesting forests in the world.
The track is designed for the eco mountain bike rider and requires a medium fitness and skill level (grade 2-3). It is 16km long and most people complete it in 2-4 hours (shorter portions of the track can also be ridden).
How to get there
Whirinaki Forest Park is 90km from Rotorua or 100km from Whakatane.
The most popular entrance to the park is of Ruatahuna Rd, via SH 38.
The start of the bike track is at the Fort Road car park.
