over time I've bought a whole lot of stuff from real groovy, and never had any issues

Depending upon what genre/s of music you're into, odds on you can buy new for not much more, also check some of the professional CD trader types on tard-me

:withstupid: re Trademe & Dollar Dealers and Cash Converters - although an awful lot of searching required.

apple.co.nz might be worth a look. They do reconditioned Ipods quite cheap, or else a new Nano is $259. I don't know if that's a good or bad price.

I know when I bought my Classic 120 14 months ago, pretty much all retailers had them at the same price, in the end I bought at Dick smith as they had the best price on the accesories that I wanted (and the I-pod was a whole $5 cheaper than RRP :o )

Thats probably the one I will go for from them. Im now thinking 8g will be enough for me. I was looking at the classic but I would never fill it that far up.

Now just to work out what colour to go for.

Apple basicaly control the market for iPods, their prices , their hardware. They never get cheaper either, the spec changes, the price never does.

I'd say go bigger too, doesnt sound like much more cash for more storage its always handy.

My iPod 5th gen is still going strong after 5 years, but due its second battery change....

Rather than getting an ipod, why don't you get something good?

For cycling I just use the little shuffle.
Its tiny, weighs next to nothing, easy to use one handed, lasts about 10 hours per charge and it holds way more music than I can listen to on a ride.
What more do you want? :)

If you haven't got one or made your decision yet... in my experience as far as capacity goes, bigger is always better (I'm almost out on my 32G Touch). Buying music off iTunes is easy and you can buy individual tracks or whole albums - and I find it's usually cheaper. If you're near a JB HiFi check out their current prices - they're usually cheaper than anywhere else but sometimes don't have the range you get elsewhere.
