Iv been told that one of the guys from Top Gear is building a DH and maybe a free ride park out craters!

That would be Nigel and/or Brad the mechanics and I'm not sure if that rumour is true. I'll check with them next time i'm in but that won't b 4 a few weeks until i return to Taupo

was in taupo last weekend and it sounds like j.k. has been givin the ok to build some dh tracks there ..... no idea when , where , how etc thought, one of the guys at the bike shop over from farmers mentioned it

you could always try the walkin track on tauhara, from memory that is pretty hard to walk, only issue would be gettin bikes up. DH tracks on tauhara would be mint!

Most of the track building is done by the Bikeaupo Track crew but they dont have much eperience with DH so wouldn't surprise me if they outsourced

yip , as far as i know i havnt seen him round in a while.... not sure exactly when he moved thought . that bike shop was 2nd to tell me , other person was here in welly and hooked up pretty well

That is sweet, hopefully taupo will get some sweet downhill soon. Shame the hills at craters aren't very big
