What about 26+ tires. Are they available anywhere in NZ?

Why aren't more people crowing about them? Surely they're the perfect solution. Your 'normal' wheels are 27.5 inch, which is the golden ratio, right? and then your 'semi fat' or 'plus sized' wheel set are 26 inch 40-45mm wide rims running 2.75-3.0 inch tires,
THAT FIT INTO YOUR 27.5er...

No need for what is effectively a fucking 29er frame (with enough clearance)... Or are 27.5+ for the XC #wtf 29 fanboi crowd??

Surely???

surly dirt wizard, 26x2.75" seems to be the only option currently

there was some rumor of maxxis doing a minion in plus size... fat tyre minions are already on the market so plus size shouldn't be far off

conti can't be far off releasing some options too

Oh er

Are these + tires a reasonable weight. I remember the Gazza's. Over a kilo and just a right pain to mount.

Opens you up to run two sets of wheels on same (27.5)bike, high volume 26+ and 27.5, depending on trail conditions, or your mood

So right. It's one of the main reasons I would get a 27.5! Sure as fuck ain't gonna be getting a 29r hoping to play the 27.5+ game

i'll ask my DMR hookup if he can find out when the new trailstars ship out, they're 27+ rated

they remind me of the old surly instigators

I has 29er, hoping to play 27.5 game.

Then when I make the inevitable upgrade to an #enduro frame I can just use the wheels and make my 29er a singlespeed again.

(it's all very convoluted)
