Find what works for you and make sure you find out the supply chain! I like the lack of sugar in Leppin... not necessarily a fan of the artificial sweeteners, but hey...

You can get Leppin Enduro Booster at On Yer Bike...

Pity Stun's based out of Dunedin then ;)

I'm going to try my newly acquired Lemon-Lime Powerade powder today

How did it go?

Taste like the bottled stuff?

Read the comments at the start of the thread. Sports drinks are designed to be used at the specific use ratio. Make it stronger and it will not work as it should!

I don't think I've ever tried bottled lemon-lime powerade before :eh: But it tasted OK. Just a pity I got some crazy stomach cramps 2 hours into my ride  I'm hoping they were hunger cramps (I get them occasionally) and not a reaction to the powerade. Will keep using it this week and hope for no repeat occurences.

I would NOT recommend that FER stuff from the Devil store. Made my first devil store purchase for a while this week and got some. The Lemon-Lime flavour tastes sub-optimal. It is more crob drink than electrolyte drink... kinda tastes like the old Leppin glucose/maltodextrose powder I used to use when training back in the late 90s... but with Lime flavour. GOod post ride drink. Not so good on the ride.

It probably is from the 90's. They were just waiting for the heat to die down before they moved it.

In the past I have used enervit G sport to good success, found it to be very good

now currently on Hammer Nutrition, www.hammernutrition.co.nz, also available in some bike shops dean@pedalpushers.co.nz is one source  using their electrolyte tablets as an alternate source of electrolytes (I am happy to swallow things on the move) they also sell a powder electrolyte source as well

I've taken to using regular powerade, just watered down (Cos I'm a cheap cunzz0r). Make two 700ml bottles, each with 375ml powerade and the rest water.

so far so good :)

Gross, you take a less than flavorsome beverage and make it even less flavorsome :eh:

also being so hot a the moment you do have to watch how much other fluid you are taking on, also look to what you did in the 3 hours before your ride, anything different?

in this weather it could be good to just take lots of water on longer rides perhaps?

A 750ml bidon of each is a good idea. I used to alternate sips as best as possible...anecdotal, I know. ;)
