Yeah I'm kind of getting sick of waiting around. If they could narrow it down to a specific date, the least they could do would be to give us an idea of the hour.

Apparently it's 6pm local time... Neat how the bible factored in standard time zones eh? Very considerate of them.

Rapture starts today, so we will see the god squad starting to asend to heaven from today. The end of the world is October 21st so that gives us 5 months to work through our bucket list before the end of time .

I've just been reading through his mathematics, and comparing his bible references, etc. Even for the ardent believer like me, what this guy's saying just don't make sense.
So here's the source data:
http://www.ebiblefellowship.com/outreach/tracts/may21/

I am intrigued by his calculation of 7000 years and don't know if that is right or not. But as I see it the problem is he fails to explain the length of the tribulation (he's saying 23 years), which in the book of Daniel is referred to as 7 years, made up of two equal periods of 1260 days (3 1/2 years). He misses all the things that are "supposed" to happen during the tribulation (Rev 6,7,8,&9) that haven't (he's saying the great tribulation ends today), and the 5 months he talks about based on Revelation 9:5 comes after a number of other events which also have not happened yet, so either a whole lot of stuff is gonna go down while we're having dinner tonight, or he's wrong. I predict the latter.

I fully believe in the Bible and in Jesus and the rapture. I also believe that there is nothing preventing the rapture from happening at any time, however it will not be a rolling event around the world, because Jesus said it would happen in the twinkling of an eye, not over 24 hours. Also the whole no man knows the day or the hour thing sort of comes into play here......
As much as I'd love it to happen tonight, I'm still making sure my work clothes are clean and dry for Monday morning. :)

I still go for 2012, it just seems better. :p

I must be missing something, the folks with the least to fear ( the righteous or whatever ) seem to be the ones most frightened by all of this.

if I thought the world was ending, but I knew [or at least thought ] I would be spared, I'd be happy as a sandboy.

That's the problem? How about the fact that Christianity is built on a myth? :D

Christianity? aah yes that old thing, based on around a book written some 400 years after the events that inspired it. Thats gotta be accurate

impressive considering we [the royal "we"] can't agree on events that happened in our lifetimes

anyway, I've spent the day laying out my old unwanted clothes and shoes on the footpath around town, like people have vanished :music:

The details and order of events are under dispute, in some opinions the antichrist comes out, gathers forces and starts Armageddon, then when things are very dire Jesus comes down, kills the antichrist, wins the war then settles down and gets married. When he dies (after 40 years), then the rapture happens.
Thats the version relayed to Mohammed by the angel Gabriel, so its essentially the most up to date.

Actually that'd be pretty bloody funny. Imagine doing it at a Christian bookshop while it was closed. The manager would come in on the next morning and probably shit themselves thinking they had been left behind! :D

Charles Anderson - The Rapture (1983). 5,000,000 postcards of this image have been printed.
I had it as a screensaver for ages, a better copy with bright summery colours. Very restful somehow.

I'll worship Zeus and the Gods of the Parthenon before I subscribe to something like christianity, and yet in today's society that'd make me crazy?
