Trek have done some cutting edge industry leading extensive product testing on this (involving 900,000 bikes) and it been decided that the lever should not be on the same side as the disc.

Specialized have undertaken further research on over 900,000 lawsuits, trademarks and patents and have determined that they own the rights to the words "side", "front" and "lever". Stop using them immediately plz.
