My normal Whakarewarewa Forest ratio is 1.8 (32:18 on a 26") to stop my knee exploding on the climbs, and from what I've seen singlespeed racing is almost entirely won on climbing (and the beer drinking strategy.) So I'm guessing this should be about right for race day.
I spent the morning putting together a singlespeed which will probably be used in anger on ANZAC weekend and it's a sweet little steel 26" with 32:18 so here's hoping I got it right
