Geek. You need to learn to speak geek if you are ever going to be a real scientist.

borrow the complete Star trek series (including TNG, DS9) and watch till you can quote every episode. Including the Klingon.

Learn about furries, and learn to love them.

also Voyager, and Enterprise.

Also you should hit me up to watch entourage. One of the funniest scenes I have ever seen on tv involves Turtle, Drama, and a furry and a bunny costume (not a playboy bunny)

No no, scientists speak nerd. Computer types speak geek.
I'm well fluent in nerd ;) Would you like to hear about the Arrhenius equation? :D Or maybe Michaelis-Menten? Or I could tell you about the attenuation of nitrate in the vadose zone? :alien:

You need to learn Chinese.

I, for one, welcome our Chinese Overlords, and look forward to the day that their country provides the world with everything that we ever need.

German is relatively straightforward once you learn the rules (time/manner/place) etc. Not much call for it unless you plan to travel or work in Germany or Austria though.
