Re: What's An Electrolyte?

The advantage I notice using electrolyte drinks is that I urinate a lot less than if I'm drinking plain water.
I'm not sure if that's because I drink less volume of the electrolyte drinks or an actual physical effect from the isotonic nature of the drink.
It could also be psychological.

Oh fuck yeah.
Damn that's an awesome idea. They could sell just sausage, just the balls, or both together.
Watties Sausagefest

Watties: Sausage and balls

There you go Watties, product names to use.

They could go for a can with the 1:1 sausage to ball ratio and call it the armstrong

In your best David Attenborough or Steve Erwin accent...

This meal covers all the bases for a Middle Aged Man In Lycra, aka MAMIL.
All of the electrolyte replacement, Vitamin C and caffeine that they require for the day ahead..
It is in a warm cafe with a view of the bikes allowing the MAMIL to discuss such subjects of the implications of Cadel Evans retirement on Australasian cycling or if Shimano and Campagnolo are going to be better next year.

They will then follow a rigorous rehydration session at the end of the ride with locally brewed craft beers Image

I find this also, though I believe the salt content/isotonicness is supposed to lead to greater fluid retention rather than absorption into the blood stream, to the point I can get puffy ankles after big rides.. just my uninformed understanding (I read it on the interwebs once this one time somewhere...)
