Hey, a You Shop question...

from the states, is their postage and (re)packaging cheaper than what would be quoted by a direct company?

Velo-Orange are trying to sting me minimum $60USD through USPostal service to send those handlebars (and as high as $104USD FedEx), and just wondering if I can expect a cheaper alternative through You Shop. I've only ever used it for free-shipping-within-the-States options before and found it reasonable... (like $12-$16 or so)

It is. It's a 30 day cookie, so there's very little excuse for not having the cookie active at time of purchase.

Well, turns out the Velo Orange cheapest ($60USD) is bestest, as You Shop with the measurements given by VO pans out to $72(slow), or $98(fast)... US Postage is bullshit

can somebody explain to me the difference between these:
530s
vs
XTs

the 530s are 5 grams lighter. and they are installed with a pedal spanner, not a hex key - which i think is better if they've gotten a bit stuck.

would the difference be in the bearings? axle? Cos the rest of the materials appear to be pretty much the same.

FYI, i already bought the 530s cos they're half the price (Sorry, Rik, bought them in store! i know i shouldnt have!!!). but the xt 'bling' factor definitely attracted me to start with.

The XTs have XT written on them.
I bought the 530s a few years ago after reading this obituary on NSMB.

Entirely as advertised, no hidden shonk.

Ordered a few odds the other day, hope the click through works this time.
Cheap brakes for dads communter, a magic Mary, a topeak ratchet mini tool, and a pair of dmr v-twin pedals.

The flirtation with flats has left me feeling like I'm standing on ice cubes on the 530s. The v-twin looks like it should bridge the gap.

Not gonna run one initially.
If I start hitting it on stuff I'll just get an ISCG taco.

I've got a taco on the HT, but after reading comments from Keith about the spitfire iscg not being designed for the stress I'm sticking with the bashring on thurr.

I did recently switch the crank to a second hand triple 980, ~120g lighter, and satisfies the inner magpie.

Got me some Wellgo V8 copies a while back for the communter which I've been finding very supportive and grippy. Recent days I've worn shorts to have left me with regular scrapes and scabs on the shins tho. No matter how careful I am, navigating our useless bike cages at work always seems to result in some contact

Yeah, my communter has OG v12s, they're good at what they do, but flats on the mountain bikes just don't quite do it for me.

Maybe if I had more riding time, so could divert some of it to the ryan leech drills.

Bought a bundle of things a month ago. One tyre turned up within a week, am still waiting on the rest to appear. Checked with CRC after a couple who apologised and sent me a new tracking number, but the stuff is still taking ages to get here. Has happened to me three times this year. Will be checking prices more closely with competitors from now.

Never happened to me before, but this order has been dispatched in two lots so far, and the pedals are still to leave.
