Then it was up to Moerangi rd and Loop rd to find fallen trees and into split enz to clear overhanging branches.
there is a lot of deadfall around all of the forest at the moment due to the weather we had last week, we will try and clear as much as we can, i have seen a couple of trail adoptees heading out, to clear their trails, which is great.
Cleared over growth down to the split enz viewpoint, which is a cool place to have lunch.
Bob went back out later on his bike and tells me that Pondy DH is quite overgrown from the stairs down so i'll try and get to that soon.

Excellent work guys. I remember all of those sites on my Saturday ride. And yes the bit after the latter on Pondy has quite a few branches down which can make the steep part a bit slippery. I may have to buy another t-shirt (smile)

Today i had a look and ride of the No Brains extension, i pushed my bike up the trail, clearing deadfall and overhanging branches as i went. Then I rode down getting GPS for the new trail map. This is the first time i have ridden this trail, i really enjoyed it. It is a good grade 4, it looks quite technical, but is not too difficult to ride, fantastic rocky bits.
Then headed over to Hatupatu to get GPS, a few riders have been hitting it up, a few riding lines forming. I cleared overhang and deadfall.

I'm not sure What looks like trail to me seems rather narrow.
I've not riden either trail that I know of.

Ian, no chainsaw work as yet, waiting for certificates or whatever we get, hope its a badge

the no brains ext photos are taken looking up the trail, as i was pushing up. the 2nd photo my riding line was straight through the middle.

the Hatupatu photo is showing a rock on the line, you might just make out a riding line around the base of the rock, this line is much lower than the trail and there is still some work to be done on this section. we are going to have a go at benching the rock with pick axes, if not we will resort to other far more persuasive methods.

Friday cleared some overhanging Ponga fronds and deadfall from split enz view point down into Pondy DH. I have posted photos on my new website http://www.spadewerx.co.nz/blog/

Hey guys Hamilton track crew here just a thought on the pipes, if you go to the carpet shops they quite often get plastic carpet cores which are 3.6 mts long which they mostly throw out great for drainage pipes and are free might be helpfull will be down for the enduro might see you there, keep up the good work.

well pleased with the results of this weeks work, I think they ride well, lots of other people seemed to think so too.

hope to attack the 2 berms after the one we just fixed up on LRRH. lots of rain forecast for this week tho, so see what happens...

Please leave us some mud and ruts! if possible bung in some more roots.....

Another favourite corner all smooth and easy again! Hopefully it will be back to it's rutted glory soon.
