I actually found out today (thanks Mark) that there's a trail turn off half way up the road to HXB
affectionally known as half X bun.
Fot those of you who don't like climbing all the way to the top of HXB

I will try and check out the fallen log on North face, I have just completed a free chainsaw course to get accredited. Thanks to the RMTBC and Wairiki Forestry School.
I have not ridden much recently so do keep posting problem spots as it helps me be more effective, getting to the worst spots quickly.

Started fixing up one of the Jumps on the last part of Corridor. I started by removing the top layer of soil which was on top of a layer of pine needles, subsequently the layers had not bonded. After raking it all back, found a source of good, gold soil and built jump back up and re-levelled it. Ideally the jump should have the wood work replaced and both take off and landing be a little taller with better transitions. I know where to get some treated wood from, so i am considering it...

Hey Mark; I did the Billy-T, Split Enz, Pondy's loop on Saturday. Besides a bit of snow still around, there is a tree down on Moerangi road. Also some low hanging or fallen branches to nagivate.

joined by Bob today, visited a few different parts of the forest.
we started with the work i did on Corridor on the last jump, we have had a lot of rain (and snow) so the fresh dirt was quite saturated i dug out the worst, replaced with fresh, packed it down and made the drain opening bigger.

Then over to chestnut to check out the high line i made a couple of weeks ago. It had a rut forming on the incline, so we cut a little further into the bank to provide more of a solid platform.
