Fuck! Really?

thats a shed load of power coupled to weighing under 80 Kg.. he must be circa 70-75 i would have thought? and to think he is classified as mainly a sprinter on the pro-tour.. think what a pro-tour climber could do!

Thats what I was thinking, yeah. If a sprinter can climb that hill in the big ring........

Do specialist climbers even need their little rings anymore?!

None of them have little rings.
Well not after the team doctor has finished with them... :satan:

....And certainly not since they all started trying to save weight by removing their saddles from their seatposts before riding...

Little chapel at Makara village to the power poles at the top in 11:17 on Saturday. My legs were baked after lots of climbing on Friday and I felt like shit, so I reckon 10:30-ish without really working. Hoping to get down under 10 minutes by the end of the season. Lots to work on!

I did 12.41 yesterday... But from a bit further up the road. I'll start timing from the chapel also. I wasn't really pushing until I realised I could set a "good" time, and then I went for it about half way up.

I know if I could get my weight down and fitness up I'd be able to do it at the 10-min mark at very least.

Yeah, was only the second time I've climbed that hill so it wasn't until close to the top that I realised I was close to the top. It's going to be good to have that as a yardstick climb to monitor our progress.

Ok did the makara climb, from Little chapel at Makara village to the power poles

4 repeats at lunch, with the second being my fastest @ 8:18

conditions: NW which i reckon helps ;)

goal: sub 7:50 by end of jan

in my defense your honour, i have been feeling like absolute cr@p since i DNF'd at rice mtn in mid december

legs do feel like they are coming back, although my repeatability is pretty crapish.. of the 4 repeats, 3 under 8:25, the 4th was 8:55 as i grovelled my way up the hill in the 21 ratio

Maybe an informal uphill ride is in order. Must be easier to set a PB if you're chasing someone.
