I think you'd need to see the road in question to understand why it should be counted. It's a real steep fucker.

I've been timing myself up the backside of Makara - From the yellow sign at the bottom of the hill (100m or so before the cemetary) to the top where there's two telephone poles on either side of the road that ya pass through.

I did 12 mins 56 seconds today, down from 15 mins+ earlier in the month.

Sounds like you climb at my sort of speed Babs. I plan on going around that way on Boxing Day... will see what time I get.

Actually... just had a look at my Polar logs and the last time I went around Makara in that direction was 20 November and by the looks of my graph it took approx 13 and a half minutes to get up the hill.

Someone should list the top climbs to do in Wellington. Not me though.

I was actually thinking about setting up a webpage with the profiles, distances and gradients of the hills around Welly... maybe when I next injure myself badly and have a month off work again.

Could try doing that through Mapmyride.com. That could be good as all the material is on there really.

I was thinking about using my Polar logs. Gives a much better profile than mapmyride and I don't have to piss about entering a route into their website which can be a pain if you aren't downloading it direct from a GPS..

????!?!?!? I thought you were a real fit fulla?

'Cos I are not a real fit fulla. I'm not too bad, but I'm MUCH too heavy to be anything resembling a respectable climber :D

I did that climb in a shade under 15 mins today. I was a little bloated though... I belched on the way up, and it felt like about six potatoes and an entire leg of ham were about to jump out
