Wellington Single Speed Riders

Postby deegreaser on Wed 3/Feb/10 11:48am

Wellington single speeders,

I'm new to town, and even more new to single speed riding. Could someone please direct me to local riders or riding groups that are interested in having one more added to their posse? I'd like to get some help learning the trail systems and also to have some training buddies (especially with the Karapoti Classic and worlds coming up!).

Peace,
Scott

Interested too, fairly new here. tbh I've been mostly on the geared bike here so far, and grateful for the granny ring, but lots of Makara Peak would be OK SS I think, albeit a bit slow down with rigid fork. Also up for training rides, PM me. I'm in Newlands but working from home so can get to Makara or elsewhere OK.

You're never too new to enter Singlespeed Worlds (speaking from experience - Napa 2008!).
Website is up and entries are rolling in - 500 plus as of today...http://www.sswc10nz.com

if u really want to get into SSing and are looking at a competitive/ fast paced lever with a fair bit of fun. Maybe try talking to Dave Aldridge, hes on a vorb and a very keen SSer, i was marshalling the big coast with him last year and wasa good guy to ride with.
