Now's your chance to show off your creative genius. We are looking for designs for Wellington Mountain Bike Club Clothing.

The aim is to create a jersey design for the club that's both appealing and easily identifiable, particularly at race events. The design may also be transferrable to casual tshirts and hoodys.

The winning design will incorporate colours, shapes, symbols and imagery that you see best represents Wellington, WMTBC and its members.

Designs must include the club logo which you can take from our website: http://www.wmtbc.org.nz, or if you would like to request high resolution artwork, you can find our email address on the main page of the wmtbc website.

Artwork is to be original and not be classified as Copyright.

Entries close Tuesday 31st August.

You can find our more information on how you can submit your design by downloading the competition 'Brief'. This also includes a template of the jersey you can use on page 2.

Submitted designs will be put up on our website, visitors will be able to vote for their favourite design and the Committee will make the decision on the final design and contact the winner.

The Prize!

The winner will take away a piece of their own clothing, with their design, in their size. Also, a pair of Smith Fuel goggles valued at $100!

Thanks to Bike Barn, Wakefield Street, Wellington for supporting this event!

Are you going to put the designs up as they come in or put them all up at once?

We will probably put them all up at once after the entries close.

A humble comment...
that is fairest, but is that option going to get the best design possible? some 1st draft designs may inspire others or feedback towards better versions.

People who do care about keeping their design a secret could submit last day??

What a cool idea for a competition!

If I had any artistic talent I wouldn't want it to be used to "inspire" others I was competing against
And if I wanted any feedback, I'd ask for it from people I know and whose opinions I trust in such matters, not fellow competitors.

In saying that though it was always fun watching the entries pop up in the video comps - but a video takes time to watch too, not like a photo or graphic art comp.

I really like the bushloveracing strip
last time I raced one of them they kicked my arse,
and more importantly they looked like they were going to kick my arse
it's a lot of black
also like Oli's stuff, again a lot of dark blue/black
So something like that, but not too close so it doesn't piss them off.

Even though I do art I'm no good at the design thing
but in incoporating the above blackness
it will hopefully cause slight hesitation before person in car cuts you off

Is there a limit on the number of entries a person can make?

Can we change the colour of the club logo for the t-shirt? Or does it have to stay strictly the same?

We haven't gone too 'hitler' on the rules front, but you're welcome to submit more than one, just don't start spamming us with ie. the same design in different colour variations. If you want to submit more than one, make completely different designs for each one perhaps?

Wuffy, I have used blue for the logo on the website, feel free to change the colour, probably easiest to do in Photoshop. We have another standard 'flat' looking logo which is the older logo, i can email this to you if you like?

Nah it's alright, the logo from the PDF is a vector image so I can work with that the best  Cheers
