Wanted: Specialized Enduro Fender

Postby mudguard on Mon 1/Sep/08 12:00pm

The small one that clips to the arch on the seatstays. It needs to be an 02-05 one I think

It's to go on 04 Enduro SX.

Well that was odd. I was googling for a fender for my bike and found this old thread. And I'm looking for something similar.
After a particularly wet ride in Rotorua I was wondering if there are any rear fenders that are any good. Or are they still crap? I've got a Marsh guard on the front which works well. And the little fender above, that I still have on my SX works great, however it's more to stop the linkage and shock being covered in crap rather than me.
However I'm after something to keep me a bit cleaner. I've wondered if a couple of Marshguards would actually do the trick and could run from the chainstay up.
Edit, this is for 14 Enduro.

On my 5Spot, for the Heaphy, I made myself a couple of wee rear guards out of those flexible plastic chopping boards. Worked a treat, tho the sort I got turned out to be a little brittle in the long term, they lasted the trip and kept majority of the shit out of the linkages/bearings. Would probably modify Marsh Guards in future

You can get a marsh guard (or similar) that goes on the back of the seat which should keep a small amount of dirt off you. Otherwise its something seat tube mounted which works ok on a hardtail but can be an issue on full suss.
