Wanted Xc Forks 230mm Steerer

Postby Trail on Sat 13/Mar/10 11:19pm

Bought me an old Rocky Mountain Blizzard. Has a huge headtube on it and none of my collection of forks has a long enough steerer to fit.

I could put it together with the original Mag 21's that came with it, but I was kind of intending to build it up and actually ride it

Anyone got any forks they might like to sell with a steerer that is 230mm or longer? If so, let me know what they are and how much you want for them.

Something sort of retro, sort of xc would probably be good, but anything considered at the moment.

I've got some Manitou Nixon Elites, 140mm Travel Air forks with 20mm axle, but only 225mm steerer, what's the absolute minimum you can go?

Does not have to be disc mount.

Kind of thinking a pair of old xc bombers would suit.

I could almost go a pair of skarebs and might come back to you if I cannot find something that I like better... what colour are they Bob, and are you sure the steerer is long enough?

I have got a 2009 model Recon 351U-turn 85-130mm QR. Riden on about 10 times. Steerer is about 200mm. Bought the thing for a bike I don't ride. But they work great

Black lower casting, V and disc mounts (It's also a 2nd generation skareb casting, as the first generation suffered from crack)
Just rechecked the Steerer is only 220mm
But the 70-100 lockout axel forks I have, they've got a 240mm steerer

Hmm must check absolute minimum I can get away with. The steerer on the Mag 21s is 240, but I might be able to get away with a smidgen less...

Hmmm might get away with 220 if I found a low stack height headset...
