Wanted: Entry Level Xc Bike Under $1000

Postby larissa on Tue 6/Sep/11 2:40pm

Hey,

I'm just getting into trail riding and XC races and looking for a bike to suit. Prefer full suspension, must have plenty of gears. Size medium to large should work, I am a 175cm female. Let me know if you can help :)

If you let people know where you are, they might be able to help out as well.

Hi Jez

Looks good, am very interested. A few questions:

Do either of the shocks have lockout? And is the rebound adjustable?

Do you find the 100mm of travel enough for drops? Does it bottom out easily?

How heavy is this bike?

How tall are you? (wondering if its too big for me)

Sorry for the barrage of questions, just want to be sure it would work for me.

A quote for shipping would be great.

Thanks

Hi

There is no lockout on the shocks but the rebound is adjustable on both forks and shock. The 100mm is all good for XC and Trail riding. I have only bottomed the forks out a DH track. I have never bottomed the rear. Don't know how much the bike weighs and don't have any way to weigh it either. Ill try sort something tho. Im 6ft 2" but its a little short for me still. I've put the measurements on the ad. I really like this bike and I wouldn't be selling it if I didn't need too. Ill be sorry to see it go but I need a DH bike.

Thanks man

Also forgot to ask, how old is this bike? How much have you ridden it and how hard?

The weight is pretty important to me as I don't want another heavy bike...

I still haven't managed to weigh it yet.

I have a '03 Giant AC1. These bikes are real cool aye. It's got Mavic Rims, Manitou Sherman Slider triple clamp forks (pretty sweet, 180mm travel). Adjustable rear travel from 5.5" to 6.5". A few scratches, but no cracks or anything. I'll chuck you a pic if your at all interested. Prob looking for $800 or so....Let me know. I could possibly swap the triple clamps out with single crown forks if you wanted. Its also got Hayes 9 hydraulic brakes.

Cheers
