Yay girlpower!
Hey if you've got any mates who are into walking this uphill is a wonderful dual use track, you cannot get the views of the forest basin by staying on the hill road. Yep, plodders can dig, we're not fussy.

Was a bit worried when it started bucketing down last night, especially since I got a over temp alarm in the server room at work right in the middle of it and I had to haul arse in to the city through it all.

Anyway looking good now so I will be there 9am.

The name spoon hill comes from the lower part looking somewhat like a spoon (laying upside down). There are local references to the name going back as far as the early 20th century.

I think the track you are referring to is a very rough cut track made be and used by the possum baiters. There are also a number of other tracks, including a couple of very old farm tracks that will all eventually become part of a network of trails.

For those that turned up today. Thank you very much, todays work was as about as hard as I've encountered since I've been involved in the project, but when you come bearing hard workers that don't stop even for morning tea and delicious home made cookies you always going to be invited back :D

Locals call it Spoon hill, I never heard it called 'parkway' before..

Besides - 'Spoon hill' is more specific anyway.
