See you Thursday if the weather holds. Will be pushing for the top and if we're lucky will make it before Christmas :)

Will be keen to come thurday if I can finish work early.

Hmmm. :( :hmmm: Damn - the one thing I'm unhappy about this time of year is all the people bringing in their bikes to be serviced a few days before Christmas.
I was so keen to come tonight, but I had to finish all the jobs. Apologies.
I hope it's going well.

Nightkid,

It's not easy working in a retail or service industry this time of year, everyone seems to get just a little stressed. I hope your customer was extra nice to you for the effort :)

ho ho ho...

calling Corky, fantail, Hickie...

that section of trail we put in last night rides fine.

LURVELY...

We managed do dodge ALL the kamahi so far, no kills needed, may have to lop a couple of low branches off though, nothing too serious.

I managed to plug my Big hit up the whole trail saddle down + middle ring this morning..

Stoked!

Keep a mattock free for me - what are the odds of reaching the top tomorrow?

will do.

With lots of people and superhuman effort, not much chance of hitting the top tomorrow unfortunately. However Tryfan is going away on boxing day until the 12th, but Dave and I will keep things going, so with any luck we will have it done for his return.

By my reckoning we have somewhere around 350m left to go, although some of the terrain is pretty steep, so there will be a fair bit of benching. I can pinpoint where we are right now as we are next to the big pine that can be seen clearly on google maps.

After that's complete I think the next item on the agenda is to extend the top of B-Line to the top of the Hill. That should take the kids about a day :) They are pretty fast when it comes to the downhill track.

Also note that someone has put a drop in on the spoon hill track on one of the steep bits at the top.

See you tomorrow.

That first image is possibly the steepest section of the entire trail....maybe. Tryfan christened it today and it seemed to ride well both ways......

It is designed as a easy (grade 3) uphill track. However it will be dual direction and dual purpose in that you will be able to ride down it and walkers/runners will be able to use it.

However people probable won't ride down it much as the existing downhill track is much more fun (it has the drops etc) and will be even better once it's extended.

A the stage I think I will be digging next Thursday, may even start early as I'm off work.

We are now only 20m short of the start of Bee Line track, so apart from a short walk there is now a full circuit to ride.

Won't have a dig on Tuesday night as Tryfan is still away and I have other commitments, so the next dig is on Thursday night and we will work on the alternative start so that we don't need to Wainui road entrance any more.

The uphill track now has the alternative starting point in the big round area here at about 7 o'clock. It is ridable, although it hasn't yet been groomed.

This means we now have a full circuit up and down apart from the last 30m of the uphill track, which is walkable and should be completed this Saturday. The last step will be to carry the tracks on the last small section up to the gate at the top of the Wainui hill road.

The next dig is Saturday morning. However we will now meet at the end of Waiu St at 9am. If you arrive later just wander up to the top. Alternatively you can park at the top of the hill road and walk down. The start of Bee line is about 80m from the top of the road on the left. Go do the first steep section and carry on straight ahead over the berm rather than following the Bee Line track around to the right, you will then see the uphill track about 20m of the left.

Tools will be provided, however you can bring your own. Please also bring a drink, sun tan lotion and a pair of gloves.

You can contact me on 021 996-456.

cheers
