Vote For Your Favourite Bike Hq Mid Winter Jam

Postby Melissa_Theuriau on Thu 5/Jul/07 6:36am

On July the 4th 2007 a pile of intrepid souls from all over New Zealand set out with their bikes and camera phones to show us how they ride. They came from as far south as Invercargil and as far north as Auckland and PXTed their stories to Vorb as they happened.

Click the links below to see where they went and what they got up to and then vote on the attached poll for your favourite Mid Winter Jam. The most popular team will win a KHS DJ200 from Bike HQ, but runners up will also collect prizes from Bike HQ and Spoke Magazine.

The photographers from Spoke Magazine will also be checking out the Jams and organising a photo shoot with their favourites. Voting finishes on midnight the 31st of July 2007 NZST. Winners will be announced in the first week of August.

While the Petes' did a fantastic job they weren't the only ones on an all day mission.

Check out Mike + Haydon, Invercargil Hardtaillers and Pedllars R Paddlers

I just wish I'd had more notice - I wasn't even aware I was taking part until about 10am yesterday :)
Next time any contribution from me will be bigger, better and far more aggressive. Roll on the next Jam...

It would be easier if it was during the weekend or public holiday next time.

as tama said though, most people surf at work (errr in thier break time) so no one would see them until monday....

perhaps another one in summer with the late evenings would generate a few more teams if done on a weekday???

I've got some good ideas on how to make the next Jam more accessible for everyone - spectators and potential riders.

But as an initial Jam I think it went very well - it definitely separated the hard and committed from the pikers!
