I've just got into auckland after touring round South america and am looking for some decent mtb tyres for my 08 Marin rocky ridge.
i'm planning to be riding around Rotorua, Nelson, Christchurch, Queenstown and anywhere else along the way, i have a year
Does anyone know a bike shop near mission bay i could get them from?

Don't think there's a bike shop near Mission Bay... But you could try Bike Barn up in New Market... I'm sure they'll hook you up with some great tires!

there is hot cycles in st heliers on Long drive which is close as to mission bay, but they are more specialised for road bikes, but worth giving a try. Then There is velo in town and cyco in ponsnby which may have more mtb related stuff! hope that helps :-)

hedgehog bikes on barrys point road is just over the other side of the bridge, they stock mainly maxxis tyres
