I'm picking the easiest thing to do is to give it Mr_Bob. I call in and see him on a pretty regular basis, and he doesn't work all the way out in Te Puke, so it's a bit closer too......

A mountainbike club in Tauranga. What a fine idea.
Can a clever person chuck a link up here to the membership form download?
I know there is one hidden in one of the forums here.

A link to a membership form?

Why I believe I may be able to do that.

It will be in the appropriate forum, and perhaps a moderator will be kind enough to sticky it for us :)

Perhaps someone could clarify the intentions / aims of the club?

The are 5 main aims of the club, which will be implemented as resources allow:

1. Promoting recreational riding in the Bay of Plenty, including the organising of recreational rides on a regular ongoing basis;

2. Organising competitive riding for club members, starting with organising club teams to contest some of the endurance competitions, and eventually being able to host events in the Bay;

3. Working with the local track and trail managers to help maintain the trails we have in the area, as well as develop new trails to benefit all;

4. To support emerging local riders as best we can, to allow them to have the best chance possible of being able to achieve status as a top national or even international rider, and finally;

5. To advocate mountainbiking, and cycling as a whole throughout the community. To lobby local government for ongoing development of cycle paths and lanes, and the promotion of cycle safety and awareness, not only from a cyclists point of view, but motorists and pedestrians as well.

As I said at the top, we won't be able to do everything straight away, but as we gain members and support, club resources will grow (not only money, but volunteers for track-building, experience in finding sponsorship and so on) and we will be able to do more and more for our members.

I hope that answers some of your questions, but if you've got any others, or if anyone else has any for that matter, feel free to ask.

And also a club discount with most of the bike shops that have signed an agreement to give a discount to club members :)

Maybe not so much an 'aim', but definitely an added benefit.
