It will be Alpine Meadow at Turoa only at this stage as we're yet to get our 300 seasonal staff on board and trained. To be fair and safe to both you and our staff we do need them on board and fully inducted and trained before we can open the lifts.
Alpine Meadow has a newly extended carpet lift this season - 130m long! It's such an awesome place to learn and the Meadow is fully covered in snow plus we're making more snow at the moment!
Upper mountain skiers please be patient as we have great news for you too. Weather and snow conditions permitting we WILL have the High Noon Express chairlift open on the original scheduled Turoa opening weekend of 20 June. Having top to bottom skiing and riding on the scheduled opening weekend is definitely a rarity so we're stoked! Can't wait to see you all here!!
Despite Breakfast TV saying otherwise this morning, Whakapapa is NOT opening this weekend. We are scheduled to open at Whakapapa on 27 June.
It's lovely and cold up here today so we're busy making lots of snow.
