Hi all, here's another one for oursupporters.

This race was an under 23 race, 120kms, 19 laps of an ~ six kilometer flat circuit. Race plan was to race, not win as we needed to have the boys relatively fresh for some biggerimpending races.

Marc didn't race since he's too oldfor this these days :-). He raced in another local Kermesse, looked afterhimself and just used the day for general aerobic conditioning also. Shem alsochoosing to do some individualised training.

Here's some shots and a shortnarrative to run you through it all.

The racing style for these under 23races is a little different to the open kermesse's we've been riding. Insteadof a little more controlled approach to the race, the attacks are morefrequent, but are usually reeled in pretty quick.

How about you Aaron?

Anotherslick change

eventhough it looks like it nearly threw him ;-)

Aaronriding strongly here. Now a different rider, better bunch position, fitter andleaner. In good nick secondary to a few weeks of steady aerobic conditioningfrom his personal coach (Simon Finnel) prior to leaving for Belgium, followedby 4 weeks of racing and recovery now. Putting his general aerobic conditioningand ability to race competitively in this type of racing, in good steadalready.

For our 'track'riders, acceleration out of the corners is much easier relative totheir road counterparts, a good time to move up a few places inthe Peloton

Skully hurting some boys chasingdown a break

Novie,busy again....

As he's out of the saddleattacking once again (the guys behind weighing up their options and hoping it'snot them that has to cover these 'blistering attacks')

 Myron 'looking good'

Image

As is often the case, the excitementgets a little too much for some of the old timers watching the race. Here'sanother...

Image

To sum it up, with a few lap to go10 riders rode off the front, none of our riders were included (by then Scullyhad punctured). So with one lap to go, Aaron and another group of seven ridersattacked the peloton, gapping them. Novie rode across to this chase bunch solo, and although they were unable to chase down the front 10, Novie won the bunchkick with Aaron only a couple of places behind (11th and 13th respectively).West had an easy day, rolling in the bunch with Myron also finishing in thebunch, cool as a cucumber.

Perfect.

Until next time.
