8 hr around sandy point would atually be surprisingly brutal. O the memories of sandy pit on my cross bike. [reminising fondly emoticon]

Nice work Southland mtb club for putting a race for $25

No a ss would be perfect ( a ss always perfect though :) )

Sandy pit is completely flat which paradoxically is what makes it hard. You never get a break.

Hey guys and gals, we've been out and just ridden the course and can report it is in fantastic condition despite the recent wet weather. A lap measures 9.5km and features about 50% forestry access road with a little bit of gravel road and 50% of sweet fast flowing forestry single track. We expect a fastest lap time of around 30 minutes on the day. And if you've never been to Sandy Point it ain't flat, the single track is up & down all the way.

We've also added a 4 hour option for those that don't have a decent set of lights.

See ya there!

A great day of racing! The weather played ball and there wasn't any rain or snow in sight  Cheers BNZ for sponsoring the event and the Southland MTB Club for such a well-run first event :)
