Mx Riders?

Postby thecharmed01 on Tue 5/May/09 10:38am

Are there any MX Riders haunting Vorb?

I got a new baby and have been hitting up the Trail Rides through the clubs and thoroughly enjoying it.

On my first trail ride, I was tailed by a lovely lady who was challenged by my riding, so we are going to ride together much more frequently. She pushed me to go faster because I didnt know how good she was, but she was stoked to have someone to chase as she said it pushed her faster to keep up with me and she like my lines.
I've only ridden the bike 3 times, but am totally loving it!!!!

There is a ride on in the Wairarapa on the 17th, and one at Sandy Pines on the 24th and I am going on both YAY!!!
Probably going up to the track at Long Gully this weekend too.

Keen for more people to ride with in Welly though and have a new double cab ute and a trailer LOL
So lots of room for bikes and bodies and bags WOOT!

I know Russs has been rather good at MX and SX...

I used to be a trail rider but gave it up because I got the silly idea that push bikes were cheaper...

i got into it briefly, but needed a road legal bike at the same time as a trail bike. could have had both, but all my mates ride stupid 2 stroke mx bikes and only ride them once a month. i figured that 97.56% of my riding would be on the road, so i bought a road bike instead. i do hope my rant is treasured by you all.

I guess being a city and all wellington would have a little less of a MX scene than say, Tokoroa.

OK, I'll confess to being a dirtphile... Currently seriously considering a new steed as my only bike at the mo (treadlies aside) is a v-twin sports bike. Had a nasty tank slapper the other day and wondered if perhaps I might be getting a tad cocky - and therefore should get back on a dirt bike where it's 'safe'.

I promised my insurance agent no more racing, so a trail riding I shall go..

None of which is much help to you - but pm me if you like and I'll email you when I have gotten a bike. Hoping to score a late model YZ450 or perhaps even the WR with motard wheels for those mad commuting experiences.

Back in the day when a race meeting was rained out a bunch of folks would just cruise on up to our property south of Levin and ride our all weather sand track.

Speshy - thats not much further than Hammy to Toks

You have a track? Do you allow people to come ride still?

Bummer :(

Although, that was damn decent of your family to build you a motorbike track.
If our son gets into it, we are definitely gonna have to buy a bigger property LOL
He has a skatepark indoors already, but not enough room here for a bike park, for now we have to drive to em
