I Just Had My Back Cracked And It Feels Great

Postby Tama on Thu 19/Mar/09 10:57am

I've just come back from the physio and I'm on top of the world ma! My physio was looking through the records and said "Oh, we haven't properly cracked your back". I thought we had as quite a few times I'd been lying on a massage table with him pushing down on various bits of my back with the occasional popping sound.

So I agreed to the full treatment and sat on the table with my hands behind my head. He's a fairly big bloke and pretty much simulated a full-nelson wrestling move on me.

I think there were about 8 audible cracks and now I feel great!

I can show you a much gentler, maintenance-type, back-cracking that I use to keep my mid-back from locking up :)

My massage therapist Karen McLeod has just launched her new website and I promised I'd put up a link: http://www.kmmt.co.nz/

Karen's very good and her husband's a cyclist :)

Visiting my bone cruncher a couple times a week at the moment - a vast improvement in my general disposition. Then again, it could be the visits to Su's Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine and accupuncture that is responsible for that.

As far as massage goes - in Hamilton http://www.muscleworx.co.nz/ is the place to be - Michelle is amazing.

thank national for taking away ACC from physio. soon if you waste yourself, you will have to pay for it. and all the rehab.

so people won't go to physio, they will let the injury fester, then our hospitals will have to deal with the long lasting effects of wasted joints/hips etc. etc........

I kind of blame the hospital boards for that in part - local manager reckons there are too many nurses at Waikato hospital .... like all 'managers' he hasn't got a frigging clue.
Cut the paper shufflers by 50%. Pay the doctors and nurses a decent wage and for fecks sake - stop paying some of these consultant types such huge 'retainers'. Bloody hell, I know they need to train heaps and all, but a particular specialist I know gets massive fees for consultancy work at the hospital while at the same time running a private practice.

Am I the only one that thought this thread was about someone who wanted to spout how great it felt to get their Back, Sack and Crack waxed?
