Until the facts come out, it's pure conjecture.

The lawyer wont be making bucketloads off it. It will all be on legal aid - the fixed rates paid for lawyers for legal aid work are waaay less than they can earn elsewhere.

Maybe maybe not - the goy could still be found guilty and i don't think that would look too good then.

Ok. so given your extensive experience with the criminal law as it relates to murder trials, what is the problem, and what is your solution?

What if he didnt do it? What if his confession was beaten out of him by an overzealous cop? He is a minor IIRC: what if the madated processes and procedures were not followed?

My point here is you dont know, I dont know: none of us do or willuntil trial. So in anwer to your question, Is this in the interests of justice, the only possible answer is "Well, uh, yeah, It is".

Spokes question is more of the "Lets pretend we are just simple schoolkids" type, and all he is really asking, is your opinion on whether the baseball bat murdering teenager should be allowed to change his plea now.

If you have any concept of the rule of law, and any belief in the current system that the venue in which criminal matters are decided is in front of a judge with a jury then my point stands: Absolutely it is in the interests of justice that the alleged baseball bat murdering teenager be allowed to change his plea.

To suggest otherwise is to condone the creation of a police state. Think about things, just a little, people, please.

The age of the jury is over. Public opinion and the media are the new arbiters.
