Internet Explorer Friendly Navigation On It's Way

Postby Tama on Wed 14/Jan/09 12:48pm

Vorb 6.9 has been up for almost a week and one of the sticking points has been the browser compatibility with Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7. There has also been some problems detected in Firefox 2 and some of the older browsers.

Because of the limitations of these browsers we are aiming to get IE friendly navigation in place by the end of the week. This also gives us an opportunity to take some of the constructive comments from users regarding how the navigation current functions.

My apologies to all those people stuck on older browsers, who've had difficulties accessing Vorb for the past week. We hoped we could work through the compatibility problems but getting IE6 to dance with newer web standards/ technologies is much like getting a wildebeest to do figure skating.

Tama, you should just leave it as it is so people on IE can't use it, maybe that way they'll have some incentive to switch to a decent browser :D

And those that are stuck with what we are given at work just have to suck it up? :hmmm:

I dont care about navigation, I just wish the ad down the side would go away, then I could read posts. :D

when your company has a whole lot of back end systems that only work with IE6 it is a bit hard to convince them to upgrade you so you can surf vorb at work

We have the same. IE7 broke EVERYTHING but IE8 in testing up till now has been much better.
