Post Your Sandpit ;-)

Postby FLATULENTFRIEND on Tue 23/Dec/08 5:04pm

I've nearly finished mine (ok, so its actually for my boys) :) .
I had a binge on it today and collected and moved 3/4 metre of sand into it.
I secured the uprights better and started on the frame to secure the roof.

Mine is 1.5m x 2.5m
I'm going to had some tinted clearlight as a roof to keep the sun of us and just a old tarp on it to keep the cats and their poos out! :paranoid:

Next thing is a hunt for more long lasting, big toys to make it interesting.

You need a digger with an operating scoop, a dump truck, and a steam roller.Three most useful sandpit toys IMHO.

A garden hose beats everything hands down. Especially if you turn it on low, feed it into the ground, turn it on hard, and wait for the eruption

Dick Smiths had/has remote control diggers.

REMOTE CONTROL DIGGERS MOTHERFUCKER. That would have kept me entertained for years. I'd probably still be playing with it.

Childrens today has got it so good :(

Oh cool. We've got a clam-shell sand pit. Not very big, and not very sustainable either. It's not even made from recycled plastic.

My little guy thinks it's good fun though. :)

My bro has one of those
He fills one side with water on hot days and has a sandpit on the other

Yep, we've got one of them too although ours only has water (from the rain) now.
Little guys love them - either water or sand

I finished off the roof framing on the sandpit today so I'm looking in Trademe for corrugated roofing of some sort :) .

Yeah, we're in West Auckland but Woodhill is not quite our 'backyard' ;)

Did nothing on the house today but I bought a couple of joiners for the hose and I'm tempted to go and trim the holey bit off the bottom of the downpipe (I love the cutting disc on my angle grinder  )

The boys didn't even get to use the sandpit...

My kids love that idea..
sandpit; the kids gardening gadget; and ALL
I wonder my practical gardening tools (ryobi tools) help me out in facilitating my children "junior" gardening skill..
expert says..train you family to safeguard future food need..
It is the only fun way to connect a child with garden..
Allow me to share my woody photos.
